New York State Scholarships for Academic Excellence are being offered yearly. Each year the New York State Legislature offers 8,000 scholarships to graduating seniors. Worcester Central School participates in this scholarship program and selects two nominees by computing a weighted average of the scores on Regents examinations taken by students prior to their senior year, in all of the following subjects and according to the following weighting scale:
- Comprehensive English - weight of three
- Algebra 2 & Trigonometry - weight of three
- Global studies - weight of one
- U.S. history/government - weight of one
- Living Environment - weight of one
- Earth Science - weight of one
