Go Home Early Drill - September 30
On Monday, september 30, the District will be hold its annual Emergency Go Home Early Drill. Students will be dismissed 15 minutes early. This will be the only opportunity for students to take school transportation home on this day. Student athletes participating in practices or games may remain at the school; allother students are expected to leave campus when 15 minutes dismissed early.
The district practices several types of emergency drills and planning throughout the school year. If there was an actual emergency and students had to be evacuated to an alternate location, parents would be notified and would find more information through the School Messenger automated phone system and the district Web site (www.worcestercs.org).
Parents should ensure that all emergency contact information, including cell phone numbers and work phone numbers are up to date.
Student safety and communication with parents is one of the highest priorities. All parents are reminded to make appropriate arrangements for the early arrival home of your children as the result of the Go Home Early Drill on Monday, September 30.
Thank You Worcester Women's Club!
The Worcester Women's Club has donated a big box of school supplies for WCS students. Teachers are very thankful to have these much needed supplies, especially as new students enter the District. We greatly appreciate our community's "Worcester Pride!"
Work begins on Fence and Sign Replacement
At its regular meeting in July, the Board of Education authorized work to be completed under the approved capital project. The fence along the west-side driveway and the electronic message board are being replaced. Work has begun and the fence replacement is scheduled for completion well before the start of the new school year. The sign construction and replacement could extend beyond the opening of school. Please check the district web site for events and news.
New Entry Points and Procedures for 2014-15
The result of recommendations from the New York State Police, who performed a building security assessment, and work performed by the District Safety, Health and Wellness Team, entry into the building will be different for both students and adults entering the school beginning with the new school year.
Adults and visitors to the school must enter the building through the main entrance located under the canopy.
