Capital Project Approved

On March 12, 2008 the voters of the Worcester Central School District approved the Capital Project that will renovate the original building (windows, plumbing, heating/HVAC, electrical wiring, and floors), bring classrooms from the annex into the main building
(addition), build a new cafeteria and kitchen, renovate playing fields, and build a new bus garage.

Worcester Central School is located in the picturesque Leatherstocking region of New York State in Otsego County.

The district is committed to educational excellence and has high expectations for students and staff. Worcester Central School provides quality education programs geared to students of all levels of academic potential and interest. Numerous electives in English, local history, sociology, psychology, home economics, and technology are also offered. The student/faculty ratio provides an opportunity for teachers to give personal attention to the education and personal needs of students. The Otsego Area Occupational Center in Milford offers a wide variety of programs in career and technical education, special and alternative education, and adult and continuing education for interested students.

Worcester Central School has recently been recognized as having one of the 20 most improved middle level programs in New York State by the New York State School Boards Association. The district’s commitment to the process of Comprehension District Education Planning (CDEP) provides Worcester Central School with the means to focus on continuously improving the learning opportunities and achievement of its students.
