Dear Worcester Parents and Guardians,
This letter is to inform you that today we had an unanticipated fire evacuation. Please know, that at no time was there an actual fire or emergency at the school. Today’s false alarm was caused by an elementary student pulling the fire alarm.
I am happy to report that our students and staff did an excellent job exiting the building in a safe and orderly manner, just as we have practiced many times in our previous drills. We are very proud of how everyone responded.
I do ask that you please speak to your children about the importance of not playing or tampering with fire alarm pull stations. The result of creating a false alarm causes a schoolwide disruption in learning, redirects important first responders from actual emergencies and can lead to student disciplinary action.
I thank you for your continued support and for helping to keep our school community safe.
