Sixth graders in Ms. Walton's third quarter enrichment groups researched, wrote, recorded, and edited radio documentaries for National History Day.  The 2006 theme, "Taking a Stand in History", inspired Milk Wars and The Underground Railroad in New York State. 

The documentaries were awarded first and second prizes, respectively, at the Catskill Regional competion in March.  At the state competition, on May 5, 2006, The Underground Railroad in New York State was honored by NYSHA with the prestigious "New York State History Award".
